Waiting on a Sunday

I meet beautiful people everywhere on my journey and by beautiful I mean soul beautiful. The kind of people that open up their heart to you and let you know where they’ve been, what they ache for and who they really are, behind the mask of self-illusion. This poem is for those people. I see you. Thank you for showing me the real you.

Waiting on a Sunday

I’m not waiting on a Sunday
Looking for a Friday
Searching for a Maybe

I’m here right now,
And I see a little magic in you.
I saw you cross the street,
A beat in your stride,
Something in your feet.

So I decided to follow.
I thought maybe you could be somebody,
Somebody with an open heart,
A lighted mind.
I was looking for a fellowship of the highest kind.

I’m not waiting on a Sunday
Looking for a Friday
Searching for a Maybe

No, I see you now.
I don’t need the answers to a million questions.
You don’t have them.
I don’t need to know where you’ve been,
Because it’s already gone.

No, I want to be in the eternal now with you.
Opening my hands to your soul,
Scoping in the light.
Letting go of the shadow,
Listening to the rumblings below.

I’m not waiting on a Sunday
Looking for a Friday
Searching for a Maybe

Tomorrow’s too late and right now is where we are.
I just want to smile with you,
Spread my mouth wide and grin a little,
And laugh some too.

Hell- I get you.
I know your brand of quirky.
Out there on the edge,
Waiting for a revelation,
Hoping for something new,
Looking for a lifeline.

But stop.
Ain’t nobody coming around but you.
There’s no power out there,
Only in here.
In the space behind the crazy mind.

So quit running when you hear your name,
Listen to your own exhale.
Follow the pulse of your bliss.

I’m not waiting on a Sunday
Looking for a Friday
Searching for a Maybe

I just want to get a little closer
To the Real YOU.
To the Self you’ve been trying to meet.
To the consciousness within.

Let me listen to the rhythm of your soul.
My Soul
Our Soul
There is a conscious side,
Even when you want to hide
From a world of chaos.
I see you.
So come on boo—smile, I’m looking at you.
